In Memoriam: Diane Leach
held at Trinity Episcopal Church Lansingburgh on Saturday February 25th at 2:00 PM. The Rt. Rev. William H. Love, Bishop of Albany, officiated at the service. Father Desmond Francis gave the sermon, and Gabe and Nathan Leach gave eulogies. There was a reception in our parish hall hosted by the Women of Trinity following our worship. The obituary appears here.
Here is the announcement posted on Facebook:
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend and sister in Christ, Diane Leach. Diane suffered a stroke on Sunday and died peacefully at Albany Medical Center around 2 PM Monday, February 20th. She made an indelible mark on us from the moment she and husband Father Fred began their ministry at Trinity in 1990. She was a phenomenal Sunday School teacher, crafter and craft teacher, tone chime choir leader, baker, gardener, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caring friend.
Just last fall she orchestrated our first free community neighborhood dinner. Last Saturday, she joined our Trinity family for Cabin Fever festivities. (Check out those beach party sunglasses!) We will miss her unending kindness, artistry, intelligence and sense of humor.
Our grief is tremendous, but as Father Desmond, who administered last rites to Diane early, early Monday morning says, "Remember too, we do not grieve without Hope. For, in the midst of death, Jesus Christ is our Resurrection and our Life and nothing in life or in death can separate us from the Love of God which we find in fullness in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We shall be in touch. Peace and Power to all in the strong Name of the Trinity."

As soon as memorial service plans have been finalized, they will be posted here. Please keep Diane's children Nate and Sarah, her granchildren and her siblings in your prayers.
