2017 Free Community Spaghetti Supper

In 2016, Diane Leach encouraged Trinity to prepare and serve a free meal for our Lansingburgh neighbors. Inspired by her kindness and infectious humor, we took on the task. The dinner was funded with a grant from the Thrivent Financial. We dedicated the event to the memory of Diane's husband, our Rector Emeritus, The Reverend Fredric Leach.

This year, we continued the tradition and dedicated the dinner to both Father Leach and to Diane, who died unexpectedly in February 2017. Although we miss the Leaches tremendously, we are blessed and honored to remember them with this annual dinner.

It was a delicious evening with old friends and new.

2017 Parish Halloween Party

Children and adults gathered in the parish hall to celebrate Halloween on Saturday, October 21st. Kids created Halloween crafts and made batch after batch of slime/gak. People challenged each other to games of corn hole. Father Desmond and Jean treated us to a delicious dinner.

Capital City Rescue Mission

During worship on Sunday, October 15th, Mr. Perry Jones, Executive Director of the Capital City Rescue Mission, spoke to our congregation about the work that the Mission is doing. Trinity provided a love offering to the Mission.
"Capital City Rescue Mission is dedicated to proclaiming the gospel to the homeless and needy of the Capital Region, providing the whole person - body, mind and spirit - to help them return to society maturing as productive citizens."

The Blessing Box

Have you noticed the black cabinet mounted on the fence near the gate to the Parish House? It's our new Blessing Box, a little free pantry for those in need. As Matthew 25 says, "For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink; a stranger and you welcomed me." It is the hope of the Vestry that we as a Christian community can help those in our neighborhood. Please help stock the pantry with:
FOODS IN CANS OR PLASTIC: Examples - peanut butter, jelly, pasta and sauce, vegetables, soup, bottled water
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS: Examples - diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, toilet tissue

Hello, Dolly!

Some Trinity folks enjoyed a wonderful performance of "Hello, Dolly" at the Mac-Haydn Theater on Sunday, August 27, 2017.  A buffet dinner followed at the White Stone Cafe. Thanks, Nancy, for your hard work in organzing our theater outings!

Christmas in July

We celebrated Christmas in July on July 23rd as a reminder that Jesus is the reason for every season. The Trinity Players read the the Biblical Christmas story from Luke, Matthew and Isaiah. We sang Christmas carols and enjoyed a beautiful rendition of "Mary, Did You know" sung by Alyx Balkwell and accompanied by Dave Jones on guitar and Tom DeCelle on flute.
A note from Father Desmond:  "Greetings and Grace, Trinity Family and Saints...a word of appreciation to the entire parish for a lovely Christmas in July Worship and Fellowship experience. It was truly a very good day of Parish Family Living together. Thank you, one and all, Trinity Saints."
