After a two-year Covid hiatus, the traditional Christmas Pageant returned on Sunday, December 18th. Eighteen children acted out the Nativity story as two young adults narrated. Readings were taken from the New International Version accounts of the Nativity (Luke
2:1-20,) the visit of the Magi (Matthew,) and the Old Testament prophecy of the
coming of the Christ (Isaiah.) Diane Leach wrote the script for our Sunday
School in the early 1990’s. In addition, she sewed a number of the costumes
that the children are wearing today. She left an impressive legacy, including
her great granddaughter Daisy Diane, who was an angel in the pageant.Thank you to all the children who participated: Mackenzie as Mary; Logan as Joseph; Amelia, Jada, Lily K., Mila, Daisy, and Lily W. as angels; Alice, Charlotte, Elijah, Landon, and Luca as shepherds; Carter as a lamb; William, Dominic and James as the Magi. (We were sorry you were sick and couldn't follow the star, Cora.) Thank you to our veteran narrators James and Stevie, and to all the adults who pitched in and made the pageant the Christmas miracle it always is.
